V I S I O N
Vision is a clear picture or idea of what you want to see happen, whether that's in a moment or big picture. This idea of having a vision is essential, especially in college. I struggle with vision because I constantly rely on others to shape my wants and desires and I know that. I realized this is why I lacked satisfaction in my life. I lacked real, pure joy because I was unable to truly figure out what my heart, mind, and soul desired.
Without vision you will struggle and settle and become complacent in your own life. You will settle for whats occuring because you don't know what to strive for. Without vision you will get stuck in your same patterns; growth and change is hard because you lack the idea of what or who you want to be. Without a vision life feels boring, you have nothing to work towards. Your dating life seems stagnant. Without vision you can feel lonely even when surrounded by friends because you don't have a real vision for community.
Determining what your vision is is essential, however you have to also consider your intentions behind that vision. Every vision has a WHY? attached. WHY do you want to be that person? WHY do you want that job? WHY do you like that person? WHY? These 'why' questions also depend on your intentions being stronger than your desires. If your WHY is based off of a want, it will only bring temporary bliss and not a long term satisfaction.
The Bible says in Proverbs 29:18 "If you follow God's vision you will be blessed." God has plans for you. He made us to live fully and intentionally. When considering you vision and your intentions, also consider if it is God's will or yours. Because He will never fail you. The spirit is always strong, even when the flesh is weak.
YOU HAVE A PURPOSE AND YOU HAVE GIFTS. HE HAS PLANS FOR YOUR LIFE.
When you settle you give up on the great plans God has in store for your life. However, when you live off of a spirit led vision, you live a blessed life. A spirit led vision is a combination of what you want to see happen and teachings of scriptures and guidance of the Holy Spirit. When you allow your dreams, goals, and plans to be shaped by the teachings of scripture and guidance of the Holy Spirit you not only find joy and success, but you bring glory to God. His vision for you is so much more than you could ever think of or achieve by yourself.
Find your spirit lef vision and do something with it. Really contemplate what is important to you and what you value and what you want to do with all of that. Then, see what God has to say about it. Pray on it, read the Bible, see where you're being led because once you have your sights set on something that is also backed by the Lord... you will be #BLESSED!
